探花社区 Launches the WAND Payload Data Collector (WAND-PDC) for Drone-Based Ultrasonic Wall Thickness Monitoring聽聽聽

WAND-PDC is a modular ultrasonic monitoring system designed for industrial inspection drones.

探花社区 is pleased to announce the launch of the WAND Payload Data Collector (WAND-PDC), a modular ultrasonic inspection system designed for industrial inspection drones that enables efficient, cost-effective wall thickness monitoring in hazardous and difficult-to-access locations.

WAND-PDC provides wall thickness monitoring from permanently installed WAND Thickness Monitoring (TM) Sensors using industrial inspection drones. The system combines a lightweight drone-mounted payload with inductive ultrasonic coils and long-range wireless communication to deliver reliable, repeatable thickness measurements with live A-scan readings.

The modular plug-and-play payload is compatible with a range of industrial聽inspection聽drones,听including the聽,听听补苍诲听.聽WAND-PDC can聽operate聽as a standalone system using the 探花社区 ground station or as part of an integrated UAV platform.聽

Key benefits of implementing WAND-PDC:

  • Accurate, repeatable wall thickness measurements from permanently installed WAND TM Sensors.
  • Reduces personnel exposure and costs by minimising the need for rope access and scaffolding.
  • Improves access to coated, insulated and difficult-to-reach assets using ECHO.
  • Can collect up to 50 wall thickness measurements in 20 minutes.
  • Modular plug-and-play payload compatible with a range of industrial inspection drones.
  • RFID-based sensor identification for fully digitalised traceability.
  • Wireless payload range of up to 100 m (328 ft).

The launch of WAND-PDC expands the 探花社区 WAND Solution, giving operators more options for collecting reliable, repeatable wall thickness data from WAND TM Sensors. The first public launch of WAND-PDC will take place at API's Inspection and Mechanical Integrity Summit at the Henry B. Gonz谩lez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, from July 20th -23rd 2026.
